Feels like Royalty / Your Overnight Stay In a Costa Brava Palace
Our Mundo rating for Hotel Palau lo Mirador is here straight from the oven, come on and get it while it's hot! The gorgeous Palace is now a hotel and a beautiful wedding venue, located within a short ride from many ancient small towns you must visit and walking distance from the town center.
Location: The Palau is located in the heart of Torroella De Montgrí, Cataluna, Spain which is a great location to explore Costa Brava from, it's surrounded by charming ancient towns, vineyards and castles, which only makes sense that you stay overnight in one.
Was it clean? I got the Palau room, and let me tell you I had a great time in the hot tub :) the place was very clean, did not have that moldy smell some older estates naturally have.
Personal touch: When I arrived there was a parking spot marked with my name, the reception lady even remembered me from our phone call a day earlier and she had recommended me a nice place to have dinner which was great. The best thing was getting to the Palau, I noticed a mountain in the background with what looked like Montgrí Castle at the top, I then immediately decided in my head "I need to conquer this castle!" and luckily the reception desk lady knew exactly what I was talking about and instructed me in how to follow the trail up the mountain, this couple of hours hiking ended up being the highlight of my day <3 There are several other beautiful hikes in this area worth visiting.
Breakfast: Breakfast was very nice, there was a nice variety that can fit everyone, and I was able to pack a light snack for the hike I was about to take.
What else: It's all about decor and ambiance, I truly felt like the princess of my tower. Watching out from the window down at my town for the day, taking a long and relaxing bubble bath (I don't think I ever done that before to be honest). It's a great experience and it's not as expensive as you think!
I'm so glad I happened to discover this great place and I would recommend you treat yourself to be the king of the castle for a night or two if you're in the area.
